Picture-a-Day {December 8-14}

Our favorite part of each day is when daddy gets home from school. Most days, Mason is waiting by the front door or we are sitting together on the front porch steps waiting to run and tackle daddy as soon as we can.

We've had some cold morning walks recently and Mason gets to wear his cool aviator hat. He objected at first, but now he knows he likes the warmth it brings...especially to his ears.

He was helping with a little Saturday morning laundry by helping carry things to our rooms, each time returning for a new load to balance carefully between his hands and his face for a little extra reinforcement.

This little activity started months ago but continues on very strong. Mason and Jeremy put their backs against the door and Jeremy says "ready, set, go" and they race to the other side of the kitchen. Mason likes to jump the gun by a step or two and he usually wins. This time after a few races against daddy, he pointed to me and challenged me to a race.

Moments before bedtime....when we put his paci in his mouth, he just leans over in our arms to rest in this position, waiting to be carried to his room and to get a few night-night kisses. Its so sweet that it almost tempts me to let him stay awake longer.

The good little student loves to turn his favorite little stool into a desk. I was letting him play with pens off my desk until he drew on the chair in the dining room....and the sofa....and the bathroom door. He can't be trusted with pens, and he eats crayons, so we have moved on to stickers. I haven't found a downside yet, but Tim might disagree since he usually gets covered in them.

Mason loves putting his socks and shoes on each day since it usually means that we are going outside to play. This day I was given hurried orders to put socks and shoes on Bear as well, that was a first.

He still has so much fun on his little toddler playset that he inherited from cousin Ella. Its so funny to me how many times he can do this 20 second routine of up, down, and around this little thing.

A surprise balloon from daddy has been kept close every day for at least a week. I love these sweet little sleepy eyes and the cuddly striped footie pajamas.
