Since moving to Birmingham a year and a half ago, I have become friends with a great group of photographers. To say that group has been a blessing in my life is a huge understatement! It is so fun to have a group of friends that share so many similarities. We all have lunch together once a month and Mason & I have had play dates with some of them that have young kids too. It has been such an amazing network of friends. One of those friends is Becky Abernathy, who owns
Abernathy Photographics. Becky and I have SO much in common. From our style (both for our home, our clothes, and our photography), to our priorities with our faith and our family, we just always have so much to talk about. She's the type of friend that I could sit down and talk with for days and still not run out of things to discuss. I knew I wanted her to take our family pictures this fall because I love her work. I was super excited that things fell into place to capture my vision of us running around and playing at a Christmas tree farm. Becky captured us just being us, which was exactly what I wanted. I also wanted this to serve as a bit of documentation of the beginning of an annual tradition of going together as a family to chop down our own Christmas tree. I love ALL of the images from our session, I was literally blown away by Becky's work and just SO thrilled to have these images of our family. She really connected with Mason and got so many genuine expressions from him. It was so fun to be on the other side of the camera and it reminded me how exciting it is to have great pictures of our family. So I wanted to share a few of my favorites....

I ADORE this expression that Becky got out of Mason. That's my boy to a T!
And here is our Christmas card that I designed with my very favorite images....

Am I the only one that is super sad that the season for getting Christmas cards in the mailbox is over? It was so much fun this year and I got excited about checking the mail every day. I love snail mail!! :)

I LOVE the scan code idea on the back of the card. I would love to do the same on our birth announcements whenever I order them. Was it hard to do? How did you do that?
Thanks!
ps. love the pics! Mason seems to be in a very fun age.
Thanks for your kind words! I'm soo glad we are becoming friends! I love your little family and am soo glad to have had the opportunity to be there as you start a new family tradition! :) Hugs!

Hey Carrie,
Thanks girl! It was actually really easy. I just googled QR code generator and put in the blog address as the website for the code to link to and it generates an image of the qr code. Then I just right clicked and saved it as an image on my computer and was able to put it in the design. Its really super simple, you can totally do it! http://www.qrstuff.com/
Did you check out Lindsey Turner for newborn photography in Charlotte? You totally should!! :)
Becky - I am so thankful for your friendship too. It was one of the really good things that came out of 2011 for me! :) xoxo
